Ross: I'm supposed to attach a brackety thing to the side things, using a bunch of these little worm guys. I have no brackety thing, I see no whim guys whatsoever and- I cannot feel my legs.

         - We started late,and arrived there at night

            = We started late,arriving there at night.

*whim n. 갑작스럽게 스쳐가는 상상력이 풍부한 idea.

* whatsoever: whatever(부사: 전혀,어떤 종류의 것도)의 강조형

*a bunch of: 다발,송이,묶음  a bunch of bananas/keys/flowers

 

Joey: I'm thinking we got a bookcase here.

*I'm thinking of : 무언가를 할까 고려중이지만 정작 하지 않았을 때 사용

                        . 하지만 단순히 머릿속으로만 그리는 것이 아니라 곧

                         시도할 예정인 경우.    "~하려고 생각 중이야"

                        - I am thinking of going shopping tonight.    

 

Chandler: It's a beautiful thing.

Joey: (picking up a leftover part) What's this?

Chandler: I would have to say that is an 'L'-shaped bracket.

* I would have to say that~라고 밖에 말할 수 없군요.

             - I would have to say that it's a tragic love story.

 

Joey: Which goes where?

Chandler: I have no idea.

Joey: Done with the bookcase!

**done with...~이 끝난, 다 된, 완료된

             - Are you done with your homework?

             - Are you done with the dishes

 

Chandler: All finished!

Ross: This was Carol's favorite beer. She always drank it out of the can, I should have known.

*should have PP ~했어야 했는데(안 해서 안타깝다) 

        = shoulda(슈더)로 발음(h는 발음 안 하고 a는 슈와 현상, v는 탈락)

should've + P.P(슈 더브)--> should'a + P.P( v음이 탈락되면서 슈더)

 

Joey: Hey-hey-hey-hey, You're gonna start with that stuff we're outta here.

* outta=out of ('ou'는 '아'로 발음. t는 flap, of는 슈와 현상. 합치면 '아더'로 들림)

 

Chandler: Yes, please don't spoil all this fun.

Joey: Ross, let me ask you a question. She got the furniture, the stereo, the good TV- what did you get?

Ross: You guys.

Chandler: Oh, God.

Joey: You got screwed.

Chandler: Oh my God!
